Dr Joëlle Michaud
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr Michaud obtained her Master in medical genetics from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and her Ph.D. in Medical and molecular biology in 2005 at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Australia. She worked on the genetics of familial leukaemia using standard and emerging high throughput technologies. Following this, she came back to Switzerland and worked as a research fellow at the University of Lausanne, Centre for Integrative Genomic, using “state of the art” high throughput technologies applied to transcription regulation. She has a strong background in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. The results of her work are published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Michaud joined Gene Predictis first as the laboratory director, in July 2011, and became Chief Scientific Officer in 2012 to lead a talented team of scientists. Over the past years, she very successfully managed laboratory operations and organized important up-scale of the laboratory, especially for the genetic side. She led the scientific development of Gene Predictis’ strategic products such as Nutripass® and Pill Protect®. She notably ran the development of Pill Protect® algorithm, its clinical validation and the CE-IVD marking of the product.
